Information We Collect

• Membership & events — your name, email, phone, and mailing address when you join, renew, or register for a tournament or event.
• Messages — anything you send through our contact form (name, email, subject, and message).
• Newsletter sign-ups — the email address you give us to receive club bulletins.
• Tournament & weigh-in records — catch details you submit for club competitions, such as species, weight, and angler name.

When you visit, our hosting and analytics tools may record standard technical information — your device and browser type, approximate location (from your IP address), the pages you view, the site that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. We use this in aggregate to understand how the site is used and to keep it fast, secure, and working properly.

Cookies & Tracking

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use a limited set for two purposes:

• Essential cookies — remember your display preferences (like dark mode) and keep the site secure. These are always on because the site needs them to work.
• Analytics & performance cookies — help us understand which pages are popular and how visitors find us, so we can improve the site. These run only if you allow them.

When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept all or choose Essential only. You can change your choice anytime with the Manage cookie preferences button near the top of this page. How We Share Information

We are a volunteer-run nonprofit — we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we never will. We share it only in these limited cases:

• Service providers — trusted companies that help us operate, such as our website host and content-delivery network (Cloudflare), our email provider (Microsoft 365), our newsletter platform, and our analytics provider. They may only use your information to perform services for us and must keep it confidential.
• Club operations — volunteers and board members who need it to run memberships, events, and competitions.
• Legal reasons — when required by law or court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of the club, our members, or others.

Third-Party Content & Links

Our fishing dashboard displays live data and maps from third parties — including the National Weather Service, NOAA / NDBC buoys, CAL FIRE, and Windy.com — and our site links to services like Facebook and YouTube. When you interact with embedded content or follow a link, that third party's own privacy policy applies. We don't control and aren't responsible for their practices, so we encourage you to review them.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above — for example, for the life of your membership plus a reasonable period for records and legal requirements — and then delete or anonymize it.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards — including encryption in transit (HTTPS) — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to address any issues promptly.

Your Privacy Rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any newsletter or by contacting us.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect and how we use it;
• Request a copy of, or the deletion of, your personal information;
• Correct inaccurate personal information;
• Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell or share your information, so there is nothing to opt out of; and
• Not be treated differently for exercising these rights.

Children's Privacy

The club proudly introduces kids to fishing, and youth take part in club activities under the supervision of a parent or guardian. This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 online without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how sites should respond, ours does not currently react to DNT signals. You can still control analytics cookies at any time through the cookie banner.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be noted here. Please check back periodically to stay informed.
